Baby Girl- 32 weeks

Hi Lovelies!!

Here is my update for this week!!

Today is:  June 23, 2015

How far along: I am sitting at 32 weeks which means that I am officially 8 months pregnant.

Total weight gain: I have actually lost some weight. My OB and dietician are not too worried about it.

Baby is the size of a: Squash!! As of last Monday she weighs approximately 3lbs 10oz.
What is going on with the babe: Baby Girl is taking up a lot of space now. Right now she is frank breech and she is sitting right on my cervix with her legs straight out and her upper body is folded over her legs, where her face is right in front of her feet.

What's going on with Mama:  Officially in the I-want-to-live-in-yoga-pants phase, as we enter the third trimester! I am so excited!!!

Baby is:  A Girl!!!

Maternity clothing: Bottoms, absolutely. Tops, still wearing non-maternity which means that i am wearing men's t-shirts size 3X to 4X.

Sleep: Tossing and turning with potty breaks in the middle of the night. Also, I am snoring and loudly too. (Still doing all of this!), and I have been having some pretty bad heartburn. I hope sleeping gets better soon.

Movement: Lots of it and I love it!! She moves all the time!!

Cravings/Aversions:  Nutella on toast with a tall glass of chocolate milk!

Symptoms:
- heartburn
- out of breath quicker
-Acne
-Braxton Hicks contractions
-Frequent potty breaks
-Round ligament pain

How has this pregnancy been different than the first:

Third trimester with Angelina was a bit easier than with this one. With this one, I have had heartburn almost daily and I have had more braxton hicks contractions. I also had a bit of a scare last week where I ended up at OU Medical Center for observation. It was determined that my water did not break and Baby Girl is doing great.

How big sister was this week: She is so excited to be a big sister!!Her bedtime routine has gotten a little bit easier. I just hope it continues.

The best moment(s) of this past week: Time with my family.

I'm looking forward to: Our next ultrasound which is nextweek!!

Baby Girl- Weeks 29-31

Hi Lovelies!

It's been a while since I have updated everyone on Baby Girl (she still needs a name). We have had a scary week couple of days at the end of week 30, but she is doing great!

Anyway, at the end of week 30 I had a bit of a scare that started out with bleeding. I will be honest, it scared me enough to make a trip to Labor and delivery. It all started with me just walking around the house and then suddenly feeling a gush.  I went to the bathroom to check and noticed that I was bleeding. Needless to say, the Hubby drove me to Labor and Delivery. Once I got there, I was hooked up to the monitor and we found out that I was contracting (which I did not know that I was). I was hooked up to IVs with fluids and magnesium (to stop the contractions). The on-call OB was called in and I was given a swab test to see if my water had broken. The test came back positive, however it was due to the bleeding. So, since it could not be determined that my water broke, I was transferred to OU Medical Center. Let me just say that the ambulance ride, which was my first, was an experience.

As soon as I arrived to the hospital I was put into a room and was hooked up the monitors right away. I won't bore with all of the gory details of the exams that I was given, so I will say that at 3am on Monday morning it was finally determined that my water did not break and that the bleeding was caused by the stalk of the polyp that I had removed back in May. Baby Girl did great through all of the exams and ultrasounds that I was given. She was moving all over the place and she even had the hiccups.

So that was week 30 in a nutshell! So, because this happened, I am on modified bed rest, I have weekly appointments and ultrasounds. I also have swabs tests that will be done every two weeks plus more blood work.

Our goal right now is to make sure that Baby Girl stays in as long as she can.

Have a great evening!!

Dole Whips!

Hi Lovelies!

I'm glad to be back!! I have had a couple of rough weeks and will update everyone tomorrow evening. I just wanted to share a yummy recipe that found quite by accident one day. So here it is! Enjoy!!!!

I have never had this particular recipe before, but I have seen it all over Pintrest. From what   I have been told no Disney trip is complete without trying this treat before you leave. This copycat Dole Whip recipe will satisfy your cravings for this delicious treat.

"Copycat" Dole Whips

INGREDIENTS
2 cup frozen Pineapple chunks
8 oz frozen Whipped Topping (like Cool Whip)
3 tbsp Honey or 2 tbsp Sugar
6 oz Pineapple Juice

DIRECTIONS
Blend all ingredients in strong blender or food processor until whipped.
If mixture is too runny, add 1/4 cup ice and process further.
Too look more like a creamy whip, transfer mixtore to piping bag with star tip and pipe into cups.

Tasty Tuesday: Doritos Taco Salad

Hi Lovelies!

Tasty Tuesdays are back!!!! The first recipe that I wanted to share is one that I found while browsing the interwebs. I have had a craving for taco salad and doritos and I thought "well why not combine the two". So, I googled doritos and taco salad and found this recipe. And, it was delish!!

So here is the recipe that I used. Enjoy!!

Doritos Taco Salad

Yield: 14 cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb 95% lean ground beef
  • 1 (1.25 oz) packet reduced sodium taco seasoning
  • 1 medium-large head of iceberg lettuce, chopped into bite sized pieces
  • 1 medium-large tomato, diced
  • 4 oz 50% less fat or 2% sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz nacho cheese Doritos, broken up a bit into bite sized pieces
  • 1 cup light Catalina or French dressing (I used Kraft Lite Catalina)

Directions:

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up into pieces with a wooden spoon. Add the packet of taco seasoning and stir until well coated. Set aside.
  2. In a large serving bowl, combine the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and ground beef. When ready to serve, add the Doritos and dressing and toss to coat.
Have a great night!!
