Hi Lovelies!
It's Tasty Tuesday again and I'm so excited. I have been playing around with the idea of making chicken cheesesteak sandwiched for some time. I have done some research on the recipe and I decided to combine two of them and I came up with an awesome recipe for the sandwiches. Both Husby and the Little loved them and gave them two thumbs up!
So here is the recipe. Enjoy.
Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces, weight White Velveeta
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 6 whole Deli Rolls
- 1 pound chicken tenders, poached, then shredded
- 1/4 cup oinion
- 1/2 green pepper, seeded and chopped
Preparation Instructions:
First poach the chicken tenders in 4 cups of boiling water, about 20 minutes. Then take out, cool, and then shred. Set aside.
Next, make the cheese sauce by combining the Velveeta and milk in a small pan. Heat over low heat, stirring
occasionally, until it's melted and hot. Keep warm.
Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high
heat. Throw in the chicken and move it around with a spatula. Cook/warm for about a minute or so, then
remove it to a plate and set it aside.
Add the remaining tablespoons butter to the same skillet and throw in
the onion and pepper. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the
veggies until dark golden and soft, about 8 to 10 minutes.
To build the sandwiches, place a pile of chicken on the bottom half of
each roll. Top with pepper and
onion mixture, then top with the cheese sauce. Place the top half of the roll
on top and serve immediately!
