Motherhood is...

To me, it is---

- waking up every time she makes a noise on the monitor and find it nearly impossible to go back to sleep.

- finding new and creative ways to get her to eat because she is such a picky eater.

- sneaking into your child's room when they are sleeping to watch them dream.

- kissing boo boos and telling them it will be okay.

- cleaning up the pile of toys and books only to have them scattered all over the floor five minutes later and realizing that it is okay and to just go with the flow.

- crying at random times because you hope you are not screwing them up.

- going shopping only to find yourself spending money on clothes for your kid instead of on yourself without even realizing it.

- loving another so unconditionally and knowing that you are willing to sacrifice anything just make sure that their needs are being met.

What is motherhood to you?

March Goals

Hi Lovelies!!

I decided to sit down this evening and organize my March (in my planner)  and to jot down some goals that I want to accomplish. Now, I can't recap my goals for February, because I didn't make any (oops).

So here's what I'm planning for March in the terms of goals:

1. Implement a cleaning routine.

In order to accomplish this I will following The Flylady. I have seen this on facebook and it seems to be working for most. I just hope I can stick with it this time. I have tried a few times and have just given up. This time I will stick with it and my house will be clean and decluttered by the end of the month.

2. Plan the Little's birthday party.

We have the place reserved for the day that we have picked and all we need to now is to order the birthday cake and buy the decorations.

3. Have a fun spring break.

We need to plan a fun trip.

4. Work on the nursery.

The room and closet need to be cleaned out, the crib needs to put together and there is a list that just goes on and on and on.

5. Work the Little's bedroom (Frozen theme).

She wants a Frozen theme, so I'll see what I can pull together. Pinterest, here I come!!

Well, those are my goals for March. What goals do you have planned for March?

Chocolate Banana Refrigerator "Cake"

Hi Lovelies!

The ice box cake and is an iconic retro dessert that is easy to make. I have seen recipes for this type of cake floating around on pinterst for months now and I have finally found the perfect one to make. And guess where I found it? On the back of a Honey Maid graham cracker box!!!

I made this cake Thursday night (it has to set for at least 4 hours or overnight) and we started eating on it yesterday. It was the yummiest cake that I have eaten in a long time.

Below is the recipe for this wonderful and easy to make "cake". Enjoy!!!!

Chocolate Banana Refrigerator "Cake"

What you need:

1 package (3.4oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
1 package (3.4oz) chocolate instant pudding mix
3 cups cold milk, divided
2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 banana, cut into 24 slices
18 Honey Maid Grahams broken in half (36 squares)

Make It:

Step #1: Line a 13 x 9 inch pan with aluminum foil. Beat vanilla pudding mix and 1 1/2 cups of milk with wire wisk for 2 minutes. Stir in one cup of whipped topping. Repeat in a separate bowl with chocolate pudding mix, remaining milk, and remaining whipped topping.

Step #2: Break 1 graham cracker square in half; coarsely crush 7 if the remaining graham squares. Arrange 14 graham squares and 1 graham retangle on bottom of prepared pan; cover with vanilla pudding, remaining graham pieces and chocolate pudding.

Step #3: Refrigerate 4 hours. When ready to serve, use foil handles to lift dessert from pan, top with bananas and crushed grahams.

Have you ever made a refrigerator cake? Do you have any recipes for one?

13 weeks Pregnant!

Hi Lovelies!!!

This week I am 13 weeks pregnant! I'm looking forward to hearing the heartbeat at our next appointment which is on Wednesday. This is going to be exciting because the Little will be able to hear the heartbeat as well.

Baby Center Information for Week 13:

How your baby's growing:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (about the size of a pea pod) and weighs nearly an ounce.
See what your baby looks like this week.

Amniotic sac with fluid: Your baby's urinary tract is now functioning; he's starting to urinate out the amniotic fluid he's been swallowing.
Fingers: Your baby now has his own unique set of fingerprints.
Head: Your baby's head is now more proportional; it's about a third the size of his body.

How your life's changing:

This is the last week of your first trimester, and your risk of miscarriage is now much lower than earlier in pregnancy. Next week marks the beginning of your second trimester, a time of relative comfort for many women who see early pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness and fatigue subside. More good news: Many couples also notice a distinct libido lift around this time. Birth is still months away, but your breasts may have already started making colostrum, the nutrient-rich fluid that feeds your baby for the first few days after birth, before your milk starts to flow

Now for the weekly questions!

How far along:

I'm 13 weeks 5 days

I haven't weighed yet. I think I'm afraid to see how much I might have gained over the last few days.

Maternity clothes:

Stretch marks:

Sleep:

Sleep is beginning to get uncomfortable. I find that I cannot sleep on my back and I have to sleep on either side.

Best moment of the week:

Feeling the baby move a few days ago!! It was such an amazing feeling. It felt like little bubbles popping. The Little can't wait to feel the baby move!

Miss anything:

Absolutely nothing.

Movement:

I felt the baby move a few days ago.

Food cravings:

Peanut butter toast with chocolate chips. So yummy!!

Anything making you queasy:

Every morning I wake queasy and I go to bed feeling queasy. Now I have heartburn at night.

Have you started to show yet:

Yes, definitely starting to show more this week.

 Gender:

I thinks it's a boy.

Labor signs:

None

Belly button (in or out):

Weddings rings on or off:

Currently, Again

Hi Lovelies!!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their day! We have has some gloomy, windy and cooler weather today. I was hoping the 70+ degree weather we have been enjoying lately would continue into the weekend, but sadly it looks like winter is coming back with a vengeance.

Anyway, I thought I would do another Currently post since I cannot think of anything else to write about. Tomorrow I will be posting about my new Erin Condren Life Planner and how I set it up and decorate it for the upcoming week. So, be on the look out for that post sometime tomorrow.

Reading:

Right now I'm reading another Mary Higgins Clark book, "No Place Like Home". I'm alternating between this book and one on my Kindle (PC App), "Twilight's Child" by V.C. Andrews.

Eating: Nothing right now. I did eat some graham cracker dipped in Jiff chocolate peanut butter.

Thinking: Right now I am thinking about my To Do list that seems to grow and grow every day.

Listening to:

Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood.

Watching: I'm watching Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood on Netflix.

Loving:

That in a few short months we will be a family of four! I'm also loving the beautiful weather we have been having for the past two weeks. I'm sure going to miss it since next week will be very cold!

What are you currently doing?
