Midweek Randoms

Hi Lovelies!

It's Wednesday and we all know what that means.....it's Hump Day ;) LOL!!!! So far the week has been pretty low key for us. We have been just chillin' and relaxin'. I have been mowing the front yard, and now I need to mow our jungle (aka, the backyard).

It's been a slow week so here are some random things that we are wanting to do.

Midweek Randoms:

I just discovered Nutella a few days ago! OMG, it's soooooo yummy!!! I have been on the search for different ways t eat it. I just love the stuff.

We are beyond excited to see these two movies:

We have been very crafty this week.... we made a pumpkin patch out of construction paper and we also made a butterfly! Angelina had so much fun gluing.

I still have 3 loads of laundry to fold and put away.

Speaking of laundry, I am looking for ways to decorate it. Here's one of my favorites:

How has your week been?

Tasty Tuesday- Nutella Graham Whoppie Pies

Hi Lovelies!

I discovered something very tasty a few days ago. Nutella!!! Yes, I just discovered this little bit o' heaven. I have been browsing the interwebs for some tasty recipes and here is one that I cannot wait until I can make this.

Here's the recipe. Enjoy!!

Nutella Graham Cracker Whoppie Pies

Ingredients: Yield ~24

1 3/4 Flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1.5 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup of buttermilk (I use 2 Tablespoons lemon juice plus 2% milk up to 1 cup line)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Nutella (I just spread it on one sponge cake and do not measure)
graham cracker crumbs

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder and set aside. Line two baking pans with Silpats or parchment paper. Then use an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment to cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat until well combined. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix until combined.
Using a teaspoon, place a heaping amount of the mixture onto the lined baking pans, 12 per pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove to a rack to cool.

Spread Nutella onto each of 12 cookies and then sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs on top. Sandwich together with remaining 12 cookies.

What are some of your favorite ways to eat Nutella?

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Lovelies!

Happy Monday!!!! NOT!!!! Why does the weekend have to so short and the week so long?

Anyways, here is my contribution to Happy Homemaker Monday!! Enjoy!!!

The Weather......Again, I was hoping that we were done with the triple digits :( I wish we were getting more rain, our lakes and ponds are dry.

Right now I am........writing this post and watching Friends on Nick at Nite

Thinking.......that I should be studying and how I should be working on the assignments that are due on Wednesday.

On my reading pile........I really haven't read much lately. But I hope to start The Help next weekend.

On my TV.......still watching House of Cards. It's getting good. I hope to start Orange is the New Black later.

What I found while surfing the net.......I just tried Nutella for the first time this weekend and I have been searching for some recipes. I finally found some here that I cannot wait to try.

On the menu this week.......since we have been having problems with our water over the weekend (there was a line break at the water treatment plant) I haven't made a menu for the week. We are eating a lot of sandwiches though.

On my to do list.......put away the clothes, vacuum, and clean the kitchen.

In the craft basket......a blanket that my mother in law is buying from me for her preacher's wife and their new baby

Looking forward to this week.......just spending time with my little family.

Looking around the house.......the floors need to be vacuumed and the kitchen needs to be cleaned.

From the camera.......nothing at the moment because the camera quit working and we are in the process of looking for a new one.

Devotional.......
"Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil." Proverbs 4:25-27(NLT)

Happy Thursday Lovelies!

I am so excited for the weekend and I'm pretty all of you are too! Am I right? I know today's post is very late and I'm so very sorry for that. I do have a great excuse thought, I was being a good housewife and cleaned the house and I was being a good mom and playing with my little girl.

Anyways, back the original post, Thankful Thursday. I am thankful for so many things! Here are just a few of the important ones:

I am thankful for:

My awesomely wonderful husband
My beautiful little girl
The Lord
Life because it's so precious
The weekend (farmer's market baby!!)
Quiet time (I savor this)

There's plenty of things to be thankful for Lovelies!

What are your thankful for?

So What Wednesday!

Hi Lovelies!

It's Wednesday which means it's time for So What Wednesday with Shannon.

Here's what I'm saying So What to.

So What If.....

I have had the same three songs on repeat for the last several weeks.

As you can see, I have a soft spot for boy bands :)

I have had a crush on this guy ever since his days on 21 Jumpstreet ( and A Nightmare on Elm Street). Shhhh, don't tell my hubby ;)

I started on a to do list 2 weeks ago and have only crossed one item off on it.

I have 6 loads of laundry to fold and put away, it will get done eventually.

I haven't watched Pretty Little Liars. It just doesn't seem to be a show that I would be interested in.

I'm excited to go to the farmer's market this weekend. I keep seeing pics of the fruits and veggies that have been sold there and they look yummy!!!

What are you saying So What to this week?

If I could be anything in the world

This week's prompt is "If I Could Be Anything in the World". Now, I have thought and thought about this and I have decided to write about what I wanted to be growing up when I was a kid. Does that make sense? Given the family that I grew with and took care of; I knew I wanted to help people and I knew that I wanted a family of my own.

So, on to this week's prompt, when I was growing up.....

I wanted to be a teacher. I used to "play school" every afternoon and I would sit my stuffed animals and my dolls on my bed and "teach" them how to read. I would assign them homework and little assignments. As I grew up I thought....

I wanted to be a nurse. I knew I wanted to help people. But as I found out more about the profession (in high school and talking to an aunt) I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. Even though I wanted to help people, I knew I couldn't handle all the responsibilies that came with being a nurse. I'm a hypersensitive person. So, as I grew up even more, I knew that my dream was.....

Being a mom. Becoming a mom has always been a dream of mine. My husband and I have been together for 20 years, although we have been for almost 4 of those years. We waited 15 and a half years before deciding to become parents. He was 36 and I was 35 when we decided to try for a baby. We thought since we were in our 30s we thought I might have missed our window for having a baby, but 3 months after we started trying we found out that we were pregnant (August 2009). My dream of becoming a mom was realized when our Little Lady was born in March 2010 (exactly 3 months after we got married). It was something that I was meant to do.

I love my life and my family and we hope to another set of two feet some day soon.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Lovelies!

It's been forever and a day since I last participated in Happy Homemaker Monday. It's good to be back. Since it's summer we have been trying to do as many activities as we can so the blog has been neglected. I hope to get back to my regular posting as soon as possible.

Here is my contribution to Happy Homemaker Monday!! Enjoy!!!

The Weather......I was hoping that we were done with the triple digits :(

Right now I am........writing this post and watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians (don't judge, it's my guilty pleasure)

Thinking.......that I should be studying and how I should be working on the assignments that are due on Wednesday.

On my reading pile........I really haven't read much lately. But I hope to start The Help next weekend.

On my TV.......I just started watching House of Cards and so far I am loving it. I hope to start Orange is the New Black later.

What I found while surfing the net.......

On the menu this week.......I have to sort all of my recipes tomorrow and make a run to the store but I know we are having Mexican Cornbread tonight.

On my prayer list.......my husband. He has a doctor's appointment later today.

Devotional.......
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6 (ESV)

So What Wednesday!

Hi Lovelies!

It's that time again! It's time for So what Wednesday with Shannon over at Life After I Dew.

Here's what I'm saying So What to this week:

So What If:

I think I'm just a bit more excited to see Turbo than Angelina is.

I watch Friends reruns when there is nothing on TV. All the time.

I am enjoying Angelina's 630pm bedtime. I have been getting so much done.

The playroom is an obstacle course. I needs to be cleaned. I have been saying this for a week. Tomorrow is the day, people!

I wanna be one of the cool kids.

I love Shutterfly (they have some cute gift ideas).

I love the sound of rain falling on the roof of the house. It's such a relaxing sound.

What are you saying So What to this week?

5 Years From Now

5 years for now.......

I hope to have our family complete. At least within the five year time frame. We want Angelina to have a baby brother or a baby sister. I just hope it happens in the next year or two.

I hope to have more debt paid off. By this I mean our student loan debt, I hope we can make slight dent in it.

I hope to be a better mother. There is always room for improvement. My daughter will be 8 years old. I cannot believe that I will be a mother of an 8 year old! I hope to grow from my experiences as a mother and I hope to make some amazing memories with my daughter.

I hope to be a better wife. Let's face it there is always room to improve in this department.

I hope I will embrace the age of....drumroll please....... 45. I hope my 40s are as great as by 30s were. I hope to continue to treat my body as it should be treated, so that I can be around to see my grandkids.

Bad Blogger

Hi Lovelies!

I have been a bad blogger lately. Whenever I have a class that is ending and one that is beginning the next day, I tend to neglect the blog. I don't mean to, but sometimes it just happens that way. I will have a more substantial post lined up for later today. Here's what I will be blogging about today and later in the week:

52 day of blogging: If I won the lottery
The terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day (last Saturday)
What I am listening to
What I am watching (movies and tv)
Where I'll be in 5 years
Tasty Tuesday

I will be back later today. Thanks for still reading!!!

Have a nice Tuesday!

Midweek Randoms

Happy Wednesday (almost Thursday) Lovelies! I have so many random things on my mind lately.

Here's what  I have been thinking about lately:

* We are taking "A" to see her first movie next week. At first she wanted to see Monster's University or Turbo.

* We need to buy "A" some new shoes, preferably sandals.

* I have finally finished all of the laundry. Yay me!

* I found some new crock pot recipes that I would like to try soon.

* It's July and hot and I'm ready for fall and winter to get here.

* We're thinking about having a garage sale sometime soon. I hope to have it when the triple digit weather is over.

What's on your mind lately?

Tasty Tuesday- Cup O' Cookie

Hi Lovelies!

I have been neglecting Tasty Tuesday and I'm sorry for it. I haven't had a camera for a couple of months and haven't been able to take any pictures of the recipes that I have been making. I'm going to go ahead to post recipes without the pics and as soon as we get a new camera I'll add the pics in.

For this week's Tasty Tuesday I'm posting an easy peasy cookie recipe! I found this via the blog After We Tied the Knott. This reminds of the Betty Crocker Warm Delights desserts that you can buy at the store. These are way cheaper and oh so good!!!!

A Cup of Cookie

1 Tbls softened butter
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp white sugar
1 tbsp packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
a sprinkle of salt
3 tbsp flour
2 tbsp mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Place all ingredients EXCEPT chocolate chips in a bowl or mug and mix with a fork until there are no signs of any specific ingredient. Stir in chips.

Microwave for 45-50 seconds and enjoy.

Blogging with a purpose Week 4: My biggest weakness

Hi Lovelies.

I miss last week's blogging with a purpose topic. I hope to post it later today. This week's topic was a difficult one to answer as I have many weaknesses. My one biggest weakness though is weight and eating healthy. I'm a big eater, which is bad for me and what I do eat isn't always the healthiest of choices. I also tend to eat late at night, which is also bad for me. I'm also an emotional eater. I'm trying to change this. My weight has never been great, in fact I have always been heavy.

However, things are going to change this month. Paul and I want to have another child. So, I'm going to start working out 3x a week (walking and lifting weights). As for food, I'm going to add more fruits and veggies to my diet. I don't plan an depriving myself as this will not help me in any way. If I deprive myself of something then that is all I want to eat and that is not good for the diet. I will take this one day at a time and I know that I will take a few detours along the way, but I know I will be able to get back on track.

What is your biggest weakness?

Have a lovely Monday Lovelies!

1. What is the best trip you have been on?

It was a trip to Kansas with my hubby when he was interviewing for a job because it was just the two of us.
2. What is your idea of a girls weekend trip?

I'm not sure, but maybe doing something in Dallas, TX
3. What is your best idea for a couples trip?

I have no idea!

4. What is the best vacation on the cheap?

I would say the zoo in OKC.

5. What is the place you most want to visit?

I would love to visit to Eroupe.

Let's Dance!!!!!!

Hi Lovlies!!

I hope everyone is having a great week. I stumbled across the most awesome song and video on Yahoo the other day. I have been listening to it for the last 3 days and it never gets old. I love the all of the celeb cameos (even though there are a few that I don't recognize).

It's a jump up and dance kind of song! Anyways, here it is for your listening and viewing pleasure.

A Facebook status I wanted to share

I finished writing my paper on the effects of divorce on children and I turned it last week. While writing the paper I did realize something. I realized that if I had not have left my parents house when I did, I would be 40 years old, living with my parents, taking care of them and taking care of my nieces and nephews. When I left home I knew I had made the right decision. I never looked back and I have never regretted the decision. When I left, I had no where to go and Paul's me let me stay with them. Without Paul and his parents I would not have the life that I have today. I would be a mother to the most beautiful little girl in the world.

Paul and I have been together for 20 years. The first few years were tough. We had some unpleasant encounters with my parents, and the encounters brought us closer together. But we made it through stronger than ever. I love him for helping me be the person that I have become. I love where my life has taken me and I can't wait to spend the next twenty years with my best friend, my soul mate, and the love of life.

Monday MishMash

Hi Lovelies!

I can't believe the weekend is already over. We have had a relaxing weekend here. We have watched movies, played outside and inside, watched movies, and just enjoyed spending time with each other.

Monday Mishmash:

The fireworks have already started around these parts. Our neighbors behind us have decided that it is fun to start popping them at 9pm ("A" is already in bed and sound asleep). This Mama Bear has already decided that if they wake up little girl she is gonna open a can of whoop ass on them.

I have been watching episodes of How I Met Your Mother and House of Cards lately.

I have three loads of laundry to tackle tomorrow, and three more to fold. Have I mentioned how much I hate laundry?

I really need to give my house some TLC. I have been negectling it over the weekend.

Fourth of July is this Thursday. I hope that we can spend some time with family and friends.

I'm still trying to decide what kind of dessert for the 4th of July: Cheesecake or banana pudding? Decisions....decisions.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!!

~Angie
