What I'm doing.......

Hi Lovelies!

I realize I haven't written a post since Monday.....what is wrong with me? Well, to be honest it has been a pretty hectic week. And I just have not had the time to post.... I know I know.... I should always make the time to post and I promise I will get better.

Anyway, here's what I am doing instead of studying:

Watching The Legend of Billie Jean

Fair is fair!!!!!!!!!

Rosanne

Friends

Yep....that's what I have been doing instead of working on my papers and studying for tests. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be a bit more disciplined in my studying.

Talk ya later!

Sunday Social on a Monday

Hi Lovelies!

I meant to post Sunday Social last night, but I actually forgot. I have been playing catch up in my class and I also have been working on a group project for the class as well. Have any of you taken an online class where you have to do a group project? Let me tell you... it sucks! Every time I post a question for my group it usually takes each member at least two days to respond. It's driving me insane!!!

Anyway, here are this week's questions:

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?

I miss being able to ride my bike all day long, and just being a kid.

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

The only nickname that I ever had was GiGi mainly because that was how my youngest sister pronounced my name.

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

Swings

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A teacher

5. Did you participate in any school activities?

The only activity I ever participated in was Future Homemakers of America. I was a bit of an introvert during school.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

Nothing comes to mind

What some of your favorite childhood memories?

If I could turn back time.....

Hi Lovelies!

Every time I hear those words I think of Cher and this song:

You know you do to!!!
Anyway, I digress.... the point of this post it write about an event/events that you would like to change. Well, let me tell ya I have lots of those. There are so many events that I would like to change that it makes it difficult to pick just a few. However, after some deep thought I finally settled on three events that I would like to change if I am ever given the chance (I know..... I know...... highly unlikely):

1) If I could turn back time, I would tell my teenage self that friends come and friends go, but the friends you make when you are older are the ones who will always be there for you. These are the friends that count.

2) If I could turn back time, I would tell my teenage self that leaving home will be the best thing you will ever do. Your life will have meaning. You will become a wife to an awesome man, he will be your better half, he will be your soul mate. You will become a mother to the two most beautiful little girls, they will be your best friends.

3) If I could turn back time, I would tell my teenage self that life is not easy. There will be road blocks and all you have to do is bust through the road blocks, never go around them. These road blocks will make you who you are in the future.

If only we knew back then just how our lives would turn out today.

TGIF!!!!!

I think I wrote a similar post last night, but I want to elaborate a little bit more!

Hi Lovelies!

I know my posting has been sporadic all week, but I have a very good excuse. We have been having tons of fun the past two weeks and I just haven't had the time to post. My nights have been taken up with housework and homework instead of blogging. I promise that it will change because Husby's fall classes start on Monday, so we will be hanging at home more often.

Anyway, as I said, we have been having a ton of fun. I hope we have created some fun and wonderful memories for Angelina.

Here's a breakdown of we have been up to lately:

We went to the park and played soccer and hit some baseballs, Angelina rode her bike on the walking track.

We took Angelina to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. I had more fun watching Angelina and Husby play the games and Husby and I were able to relive some of our childhood memories at Chuck E. Cheese.

We also took Angelina to see Planes. She loved this movie and had a great time watching it. I just loved seeing her expression when the movie started. Priceless!!

To around out the rest of the week, I have been listening to these songs over and over again.

Lady Gaga: Applause

Avril Lavigne: Rock and Roll (Love the song, but not the video)

Katy Perry: Roar

I hope we have more weeks like the last two. How your week?

Making Memories

Hi Lovelies!

We have made so many wonderful memories with Angelina this week. I do have one mommy fail though, I did not capture any of these memories on camera, mainly because our old one quit working and we are in the process of picking out a new one. To make it easier, I'm going to bullet the memories that we have had so much fun making:

Memory #1:

Playing at the park: This is one of Angelina's favorite activities. For one of our adventures at the park we let her bring her bike, she had so much fun riding it. We even played soccer and a little bit of baseball.

Memory #2:

Taking Angelina to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. She had a blast playing all of the games. I think I had more fun watching her and Husby play the games together. It just made so happy to see them have so much fun together. Being there even brought some fun memories for Paul and I.

Memory #3:

Seeing Planes. This is one movie that Angelina has been wanting to see all summer. Every time a preview for it comes on, she comes running into the living room to watch it. I can't wait to take her to see it. I know she is going to enjoy it as much as enjoyed watching Turbo.

Memory #4:

Meeting a new niece/cousin. We met our niece (Angelina's cousin) yesterday. Angelina was so excited but a bit overwhelmed from the experience.

I can't wait to make even more memories with them. I just hope the next time I can properly document everything so we can go back later and relive these amazing moments together.

What are some of your favorite memories?

My Hopes as a Mother

I have always wanted to be a Mommy. And when I finally joined the "club" in March 2010, I immediately thought about my hopes and dreams for my daughter. She is the light of my life, she is my heart. I love her to the moon and back.

So, here are my hopes and dreams for my little girl:

I hope to improve as a mother. I hope that each we have together is better then the last.

I hope to be able to find a balance between giving you my all, and not losing who I am. (I have failed miserable at this. I am trying to find the balance).

I want to continue to feed you healthy meals, but still be able to give you the occasional treat every now and then.

I hope to teach you not to give up. Life will be hard and that sometimes things won't come as easy as you would hope.

I want to encourage your to follow your dreams, whatever they may be.

I want you to tell me everything, especially when you are older.

I want to set limits and boundaries for you. But, I want you to remember that I'm doing this because I love you and not to be mean (which you will think this from time to time).

I want to enjoy each and every stage that you are in (I promise not to wish them away).

I want to be the kind of mother that you will love as well as respect.

I  want you to know that I love you will all of my heart.

Angelina, I love you and I want to you know that I will always be there for you.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Lovelies!

Anyways, I'm linking up with Sandra for Happy Homemaker Monday! So, grab your morning coffee and link up!

The Weather......finally rain is in the forecast!!!!

Right now I am........writing this post and watching The Evening Star for a paper that I have to write for class.

Thinking.......that I should be studying and how I should be working on the assignments that are due on Wednesday.

On my reading pile........I finally found Gone Girl at the library and was able to check it out. So far, I'm loving it.

On my TV.......still watching House of Cards. It's getting good. I hope to start Orange is the New Black later.

What I found while surfing the net.......I just tried Nutella for the first time this weekend and I have been searching for some recipes. I finally found some here that I cannot wait to try.

On the menu this week.......haven't made the menu for this week yet, but I plan on making smothered steak for tomorrow.

On my to do list.......make doctor's appointment for Angelina, work on homework assignments for class, general household chores.

In the craft basket......a blanket that my mother in law is buying from me for her preacher's wife and their new baby

Looking forward to this week.......just spending time with my little family.

Looking around the house.......my house is actually clean!!!! Even the laundry is washed, dried, and put away, although I still have one load left to wash.

From the camera.......nothing at the moment because the camera quit working and we are in the process of looking for a new one.

Devotional.......
"Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil." Proverbs 4:25-27(NLT)

Jake Ryan, Electric Youth, and Sweet Valley High: All Things 80s

Hi Lovelies!

I have been taking a trip down memory lane. As some of you know I am an 80s baby through and through. It was a time of mismatch socks, scrunchies, feuds between pop princesses, and of course the ultimate boy band, New Kids on the Block. Those were some of the best days. So, today's post is dedicate to some of my favorite 80s memories.

(1) Putting plastic charms on every possible accessory and knowing that each charm had its own special meaning.

(2) You knew being a rock star with a secret identity was the best job ever!

Also, the life lessons Jem taught you:
1. It’s OK if your man cheats on you, as long as it’s with your secret alter ego.
2. Sometimes it’s way more fun to be the villain (looking at you, Pizzazz).
3. That anything can be solved by pressing down on your earring and saying, “Showtime, Synergy!”

(3) The importance of always nailing the perfect sideways ponytail.

(4) The smell of Electric Youth.

(5) How Jake Ryan is still your perfect man.

(6) Knowing that Over Our Heads was the best fictional store to ever exist.

(7) Watching these movies over and over again.

(8)  You went through, like, one Sweet Valley High book a day.

(9) You needed to a SWATCH watch to match every outfit.

(10) Making something in your Easy-Bake Oven was your favorite way to spend a Friday night.

(11)  The style icon that was Denise Huxtable.

(12)  Wanting to paint your room like Punky Brewster’s

(13)  And totally wanting that badass sofa chair from My Two Dads.

(14)  The horrible smell jelly bracelets left after you wore them all day…

(15)  …but knowing that these smelled way worse:

(16)  Drooling in front of your TV on 21 Jump Street night.

(17) You looked forward to ABC Afterschool Specials and felt sort of edgy watching them.

(18)  Sitting in your room for hours poring over Teen Beat, SuperTeen, Bop, and Tiger Beat.

(19)  You loved NKOTB and had memorabilia mostly of your favorite one in the group.

(20)  The importance of the Slam book.

I hope you enjoyed my little trip down memory lane. What are some of your favorite memories?
