Tasty Tuesday

Hi Lovelies!

It's New Year's Eve and it's also the last day of 2013! We are planning on hanging out at home, watching some movies and enjoying some good food and maybe have a dance party. What are your plans for New Year's Eve?

It's time for another edition of Tasty Tuesday.

I thought I would share a recipe that I made for the Little last night. Actually, it was one that she specifically requested after seeing the commerical for it. It was a big hit and I plan on putting this into the weekly menu rotation. It's simple, easy, and oh so tasty. So, here it is:

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Ingredients:

1 8oz can of Pillsbury Crescent dinner rolls
1/4 cup pizza sauce
3/4 cup mozzerella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Unroll dough on cookie sheet and separate into 4 rectangles; press each into 6x4-inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations to seal.

Spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on half of each rectangle to within 1 inch of edge. Sprinkle each with 3 tablespoons cheese; top with 6 slices pepperoni. Fold dough diagonally over filling; firmly press edges with fork to seal. Sprinkle each triangle with 1/4 teaspoon grated cheese. With fork, prick top of each to allow steam to escape.

Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until deep golden brown. Serve warm.

Enjoy! And have safe and happy new year!

Our Low Key Christmas

For the first time in years, we were able to celebrate Christmas with just the three of us. We didn't have to worry about my in-laws coming over (too much drama is going on with them), and we were so much more relaxed. Here's what we did on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve:

I cleaned the house and The Little and I made the best Chocolate Chips Cookies. Our Christmas Eve dinner consisted of Crockpot roast, creamy mashed potatoes, and corn. We spent the afternoon watching movies and just enjoyed spending time together. We set to cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Then, after the Little finally went to bed I started playing Santa, by wrapping all of the presents (yeah, I know, last minute), and then putting a few big presents together. We finally finished everything around 2am.

I wish I could post some pics, but the Husband has an issue with privacy so I will not be posting any pics or videos of our Christmas.

Christmas morning:

We had a wonderful Christmas morning! The Little was super excited about all of the presents that Santa brought her and she equally loved all of the presents that we gave her. The Little was so excited to see the Doc Mcstuffins Get Bettter Checkup Center and her Sophia the first castle. She also got different accessories for the castle, some lego sets, hotwheels, and some Turbo toys.

The Hubby gave me the new Stephen King book, Dr. Sleep

And seasons 2-4 of Roseanne.

I gave the Husband a new guitar cord and Batman 2 (legos game for xbox).

After opening presents, I made chocolate chip pancakes and then we played with all of the Little's toys. She gave all of her stuffed animals check ups and pushed cars around the living room. We watched The Smurfs 2

And then we had a yummy dinner of Chicken and dressing, cheesy hash brown casserole, and green beans.

All in all, we had a great Christmas. I cannot wait to do it all over again next year!!!

How was your Christmas?

Sunday Social

Hi Lovelies!

Happy Sunday! Can you believe that there are only a few days left of 2013? This year has flown by! I'm linking up with Neely for Sunday Social. Here are this week's questions:

1. What is the best New Years Eve you’ve ever had?

My first with the Hubby way back in 1994. It was the best, just me and him, watching movies, and then watching New Years Rockin' Eve with Dick Clark.

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?

I will be spending NYE with my husband and my little girl, eating some good food, and watching a kid appropriate movie (Despicable Me 2). Then when the Little is in bed we will watch a movie together and finish the leftovers.

3. Name a book we should all read come January?

I have just started reading The Friday Night Knitting Club.

4. What are your new years resolutions?

Be less stressed about things that I have no control over
Try to walk at least 5 times a week
Be a better mom
Be healthy

Now What?

Every year, the same thing happens. I'm so excited to pull out the Christmas decorations, decorate the tree, shop for the perfect Christmas presents, wrap said presents, waiting for the big day to come. Then,t comes much quickly only to be done, gone, all of it.

Then, I cannot help but think, "Now what?" and just try to figure things out.

The Hubs and I have been talking about how to find a place for our business, how we are going to promote it.

Then I think about how I want to finally open my esty shop where I plan to sell handmade blankets, bracelets, and necklaces. I wonder how I'm going to accomplish all of this.

I purchase a new planner and I get excited about its pretty blank pages just waiting on desk to document the new year, and everything that it holds.

I have noticed on other blogs that some have a "word of the year" . Do you do that? I have never thought about having one, but I'm thinking about for this year. At first it didn't make sense, but the more I think about it. the more think I want to do this. But, I think I will adopt a "motto for the year" instead of a "word of the year".

The motto that I will be adopting this year is....

Just Keep Livin' which comes from this movie:

To me this means, just live in the moment, live in the hear and now, enjoy life to the fullest.

For 2014 I want to be.....

a more loving, selfless, supportive wife

a more paiteient, fun loving mother.

a more dedicate friend, to be there when I am needed.

a better me. There are two many reasons to list here.

What changes do you want to make for the new year?

Here's To Another 20 Years!!!

Hi Lovelies!!

I'm back! My sweet, wonderful, amazingly awesome husband fixed my computer! I'm so glad that it works now. I've missed writing substantial posts, which I hope to be doing from now on. I wanted to share something special with all of you.

Today, our 4th wedding anniversary! I know, we have been together for 20 years, but we finally got married 4 years ago today. I was 6 months pregnant with the Little and I was so happy to finally become and Mrs instead of a Ms. Also, I was marrying the man of my dreams and one I have known since we were in the 3rd grade. I love him so much. He gave me a second chance at really having a life and I owe him so much.

I just wanted to give a shout out to the most wonderful man, the man of my dreams.... Happy Anniversary. Here's another 20 years!

I love you to the moon and back Papa Bear! You are the cheese to my macaroni!!!

Some of my favorite Christmas movies

Hi Lovelies!

Happy Thursday! My copmuter is still out of commission and I am still using the Hubster's computer. Now that I am on a break from school I should be able to post more regularly now. Anyways on the the purpose of this post.

Every year after we clean up the kitchen from Thanksgiving and after the Dallas Cowboys games (hey, it's a tradition that I have been enjoying for over 20 years) we sit down in the living room and watch one of our favorite Christmas movies which is "The Year Without a Santa Claus".

It's been a tradition for The Hubs and me ever since we started living in sin together 20 years ago. It's
one of our favorite movies and we cannot wait to share this tradition with the Little (she still goes to bed pretty early) when she is older.

Another of our favorite movies is "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation".

I have always loved this movie! It's just not Christmas until we watch it.

Another favorite of mine is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I remember watching this as a kid with some of my cousins, eating popcorn, and just really enjoying it. I like the cartoon more then the live action movie although I still think that Jim Carey was really good in the role of The Grinch.

Those are the movies that made the top 3! Now here the rest of the list:

Random Thoughts

Hi Lovelies!

There are so many jumbled thoughts running through my head right now that I thought I would share them with you. Don't you just hate when that happens?

Anyways... here is some randomness for ya!

1) I hate my computer! Every two days the internet connection goes out and I don't why. It's driving my crazy.

2) Because of said computer problem, I am now in search of a new computer. Any suggestions?

3) I'm so ready for some warmer weather! Hey, I would even take temps in the 40s compared to temps in the 20s and teens.

4) I still have a few more Christmas presents to buy and a lot more to make.

5) After two days of marathon cleaning, my house is finally clean.

Have a lovely Thursday!

Tasty Tuesday- Christmas Cookies

Hi Lovelies!

Who doesn't love Christmas cookies? I love to make cookies with the Little, especially Christmas cookies. It's become one of our yearly traditions that I look forward too all year long. For this edition I have chosen a peanut butter hazel nutty cookie that looks so yummy that I am going to be buying the ingredients for this cookie and we will be making these little pieces of heaven this weekend.

Here is the recipe: (from the Pillsbury website):

Chocolate Hazelnut-Peanut Butter Cookie Cups

Ingredients

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated chocolate chip cookies
12 tablespoons peanut butter
12 tablespoons hazelnut spread with cocoa

Steps

1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 24 mini muffin cups with cooking spray.

2 Scoop 1 tablespoon cookie dough into each muffin cup. Press down.

3 Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden. Using shot glass sprayed with cooking spray, immediately press center of each muffin cup gently to shape cookie cup. Cool completely in pan. Turn pan upside down to remove cookie cups from pan.

4 Place 1/2 tablespoon peanut butter in each cookie cup. Top each with 1/2 tablespoon hazelnut spread with cocoa.

What is your favorite Christmas cookie recipe?

Monday Confessions

Hi Lovelies!

It's time for a little confession session.

1) I love the holidays. I love all of the activities that we have planned, from baking cookies, to making crafts, and a gingerbread house (our newest tradition).

2) We still haven't bought the Little her ornament for this Christmas. I hope to buy it sometime this week.

3) I think I have cabin fever. We have been stuck in the house since Thursday because of all of the ice and snow. Don't get me wrong I love all of the family time that we have been having, but I think we need to get out very soon. Every time I feel this way, I always this of The Shining:

4. I really want to sign up for Emeals, but after looking at the website and all of the meal plans, I think I will just stick to planning my menus via Pinterest.

5. I have never seen "It's A Wonderful Life". I guess I'm more of a "A Christmas Story" kind of girl.

6. I haven't steamed mopped my floors in two months. I hate it and I'm not sure why, but when it is done the floors look so much better.

So, there are my confessions. Don't judge, or do, either way I'm happy! What do you confess to?

Tasty Tuesday- Peanut Butter Blossoms

Hi Lovelies!

Today's edition of Tasty Tuesday will feature a cookie swap recipe from Betty Crocker that I plan on making sometime this week. I think this will be a fun little project for the Little Lady since it's going to be super cold, with rain, frozen rain, and some snow. I'm so not looking forward to the weather this week. I just hope the electricity doesn't go out, fingers crossed and praying that this does not happen.

Anyways I digress.....back to the cooking recipe. This looks so yummy and so easy. Here's the recipe:

Peanut Butter Blossoms:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
3 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
Additional granulated sugar (about 2 tablespoons)
About 7 dozen Hershey's® Kisses® Brand milk chocolates

Directions:

1)  Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.
2)  Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

3Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light brown. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
