Sunday Social

Hi Lovelies! Happy Sunday!! It's time for Sunday Social with A Complete Waste of Makeup, today's questions are all about your childhood. Have fun!!

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?

Being carefree and just having fun all day long!

2. Did you have a nickname growing up?

The only nickname I had was from my youngest sister. She could never say name (Angie) so she called me GiGi. It stuck for a while and now no one calls me that anymore.

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

Play tag and swing!

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

I had always wanted to be teacher growing up. I came pretty close too, but I decided in my last year in college to switch my major to psychology. So, after receiving my BS I'm working on a MS in psychology.

5. What was your favorite toy?

My easy bake oven!! I loved this thing!!!

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

Honestly, I cannot remember!!

What I am creating:
Still making bracelets and no sew fleece blankets for the Esty shop that I am opening at the end of this month. I have also created a bible study journal and a blog planner that I hope to sell in the store as well.

Homemaking tips:

 I cannot think of any at the moment.

Looking around the house:
The living room.needs to be picked up. There are breakfast and lunch dishes in the sink waiting to be washed.

On my prayer list:

My husband- he lost his job in May and he is in the process of looking for another. I pray that he is able to find a job that he enjoys.

Invasion of the Sickies

Hello Lovelies! I'm sorry I haven't been around for the last couple of days. Angelina has been sick since Tuesday night, we took her to see her pedi and we were told that she has a viral infection (sore throat, fever, ear pain). He put her on an amoxicillian and she is doing much better today. Now, I have it. I woke up this morning with a sore throat, feeling achey, and running a fever. I was able to have the on call doctor for my GP to call me in some meds and now starting to feel better.

I can say that I have the best husband in the world. He has taken care of Angelina all by himself today. Yeah, my house is a mess, but he did all by himself!

I hope to back to blogging tomorrow. Here are some post ideas that I have been thinking about:

Fall Style
My Fall TV line up
Fall Bucket list

Good Night Lovelies! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Show and Tell Monday

 1. Tell us what kind of student you were in high school {popular, nerd, sport obsessed, choir, etc}

This question is kind of hard for me to answer. I high school I really did not fit into any type of group. I was a cop's kid and those type of kids tend to be the most unpopular in the school. However, I did study a lot and made fairly good grades.

2. Share with us some high school pictures. We know you have them somewhere.

I wish I had some pictures from high school, but I don't. When I left home, my parents got rid of them.

3. Tell us about your school. Private? Public? How many in graduating class? Mascots? School
colors?

The school I went to was public. We had 63 kids in my graduating class (very small town, but the town and school has grown since then). Our mascot was the Owl (Go Owls Go!!). And our color were red, white, and black.

4. Tell us about some of your favorite memories of high school. Or what stands out the most? Any teachers? Specific classes?

One of my favorite memories was of my high school prom. I had so much fun that night! Kids that didn't talk me in school actually talked to that night and until we graduated. Another one of my favorite memories was of our senior class trip to Six Flags. It was one of the best times that had ever had. It was actually the first trip that I went on without my parents. I loved every minute of it. (I had some very controlling parents, think of some of the parents from the Wife Swap series).

5. Tell us a piece of advice you would pass on to your children or any child entering high school.

I would tell me daughter to have fun, but not too much fun (within our rules of course). and that her high school years will some of the best years of her life. I would encourage to talk to me if she needed to.

Tiny Artist

Hello Friends!

The other day, after naptime, I decided to bust out the finger paints so that Angelina could paint. When I told her what I was going to do I was greeted with "I so excited, I so excited, I get to paint!" (girlfriend loooooves to paint)During all of the she was jumping up and down and clapping her little hands. As I was getting the table ready and the supplies set up she was sitting in her chair waiting patiently. When everything was set up she asked me if she could use a paint brush "I use paint brush Mom?" (girlfriend does not like to get her hands dirty), so I obliged and gave her one. I told her that I was going to paint a pumpkin patch and she said "I paint punkin patch too!" And this is the result of our painting session:

Angelina's "pretty punkin patch"

I think we have a tiny artist!!! This painting has been framed now and I'm just waiting on my hanging strips to be delivered so that I can hang it up in the living room. Here is the painting framed:

I think it looks even better framed. I cannot wait to hang on the wall!

Have a nice weekend Friends!

So What Wednesday

It's that time again Friends!!! I'm linking up with Shannon for another edition of So What Wednesday.

So, let's get to it!!

So what if.....

I paid for hulu plus just so I can watch Reba and Rock of Love. I happen to love these two and they are my guilty addictions.

I heart naptime. Mama needs some quiet time (and to look on facebook and twitter).

my house isn't perfect all the time. I do the basic housework, but sometimes I would rather play hide and seek with my sweet baby girl.

Now, it's your turn. What are you saying So What to?

  Show and Tell Monday: Baby Talk

I'm linking up with Becky for Show and Tell Monday!

 1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :)

For a boy my favorite name is Michael Thomas
For a girl my favorite name is Gracie Catherine
Paul vetoed these names for our next baby, but I still love them!

2. Show me your "dream" nursery {can be your baby's nursery or one that you love}

 I love, love, love this type of nursery!!

3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart?

I would like to have 2 children at least 2 1/2 to 3 years apart

4. Tell us what you think the importance of parenting is?

Having patience is very important when being a parent. Being a new mom  have learned the importance having lots and lots of patience. I also think that the importance of parenting is learning and growing with your child.

5. Show us your favorite newborn photo {can be your children or random}

I never got Angelina's newborn photos done professionally (I wish I had) and this was the pose that I really wanted to do. I plan on doing this post with the next one though!!

6.  Tell us some things you promise to never do as a parent {and if you are a parent, did you stick to it}

I have always told myself that I would never, ever treat my children the way that I was treated growing up. I will cherish my children and tell that that I love them every single day.

Five Question Friday

I can't believe it's September already!! We are that much closer to Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!! It's Friday and that I'm linking up for Five Question Friday!!! Have a nice weekends friends!!!

1. What is your favorite fall family tradition?

Since we don't have any apple orchards and I have yet to find a pumpkin patch, we don't have any fall traditions. I think it is time that we created some!!

2. If money weren't an issue, how many kids would you have?

If money weren't an issue I would have to say 4. I have always wanted a big family.

3. If you were to get a tattoo, what would it be and where would you put it?

If I were to get a tattoo, it would be a small star (with my daughter's initials underneath it) on my inner left wrist.

4. What condiment is a must in your house?

Mayo, I have to have it on a sandwich, so I keep in the house!

5. How did your spouse/fiance propose?

We were engaged on 12/22/09 and I was 5 months pregnant at the time. Paul had the proposal all planned out until my boss at the time let me leave work early. He had no time to buy the ring so he went to Hobby Lobby and bought a wedding ring candy mold to serve as my engagement ring (I still have that mold). He then took me to our favorite spot at the lake, and at sunset dropped to one knee and proposed. Before he could finish the sentence, I said yes. It was perfect!  We were engaged for less than 24 hours when we got married. I waited for 16 years and I wasn't going to let him change his mind, so we got married the next day. That night a blizzard came through and we were snowed in until 12/27/09.

Mom Jewelry

A few months after having Angelina I decided that I wanted a piece of jewelry that either had her birthstone on it or just represented her in some small way. After looking for what seems like forever I finally settled on something that more within our budget:

My necklace has March's birthstone, which is aquamarine. I love it!!!

Eventually, I would like something that looks like this to represent not only my daughter but my husband as well.

Hopefully, this will be birthday, anniversary/Christmas present next year!!

 { Show and Tell Monday: All Things Fall}

Happy Labor Day Friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their 3 day weekend! I'm making a feast for today (brisket, potato salad, corn on the cob, and red, white, and blue cupcakes). I love this weeks theme because it is all about fall, my favorite time of the year because it is the start of football season and we are that much closer to the holidays! I'm linking up with Becky for this week's Show and Tell.

1. Tell us what you are looking forward to this fall?
After the summer that we have had (triple digits since July) I can't wait for the cooler weather, hot coca, hot apple cider, and warm clothes (sweaters, boots, jeans, and scarfs).  Fall is one of my favorite seasons. It just means that we are that much closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas!
2. Show us your fall style.

3. Tell us your favorite things to do in the fall. If you have children, activities to do with the kids?
Since I have a child, my favorite fall activities would naturally evolve around her. Right now I am looking for some pumpkin patches in our area so that we can take Angelina to one. I can't wait to take her to one, it is the one thing that I want to do with her this fall.
4. Show us your favorite fall beverage.
5. Tell us, how you will be participating in halloween this year. Plans? Costume ideas?
We plan to take Angelina trick or treating around the neighborhood and to our local mall. I have ideas for her costume, but she wants to go as Elmo so I'm trying to find the perfect costume for her. This is the one I have my eye on:
