Morning Routine

I only made one resolution this year. It was to be more productive, energetic, and happier. And yes, I counted it as one resolution. Don't get me wrong.  I am very happy with my life overall. I have the two most amazing girls and the best husband in the whole world. I am healthy and so is my family. I could not ask for anything more.

However, there are days (that often lead to weeks) where I just don't feel like doing anything. I tend to be moody, I crave junk food, I don't want to look in the mirror, I don't dream, and I just stop making goals.

In order to make sure that the chaos stays at a minimum, a morning routine is very important. Here is a breakdown of my morning routine that I follow every day.

(1) Get up before the kids.  I find that getting up before the kids often makes my morning routine run smoother. By doing this I tend to manage my time better.

(2) Get dressed. Even if there is nowhere to go, I find the getting dressed gets me motivated to tackle the daily chores that I have to do around the house.

(3) Swish and swipe the bathroom. I tidy up the bathroom as I am getting ready for the day.

(4) Make the bed. This is so important as it tends to set the tone of the day for me.

(5) Eat breakfast

(6) After breakfast clean up

(7) Planner minute. This is when I check my planner to see what has to be done for the day.

(8) Daily action plan. I check to see what appointment we have (if any).

(9) One load of laundry per day. I find doing one load of laundry a day to keep the mountain of clothes much more manageable.

(10) Daily chore. I choose on chore a day so that I can get it done and not have to worry about it.

So, there is how I use my morning routine. Do you follow a morning routine?

Have a great night!!

XOXO

Lemon water isn't just incredibly refreshing, it also powers our bodies with vitamins and minerals. It's a great energy booster and hydrates us first thing in the morning. Drinking warm lemon water in the morning provides our bodies with an immune boost.

Here are the benefits of drinking warm lemon water:

1. Lemon water powers up your morning with electrolytes.

I bet most of you wake up in the morning and have a cup of coffee. Now, see I don't do this because I don't like coffee, but I have been told by numerous people that coffee does taste better after drinking warm lemon water.

Lemon water contains hydrating electrolytes in the form of magnesium and calcium. Drinking lemon water will get your day started in the right way.

2. Lemon water helps keep joints healthy.

Lemons help to reduce joint and muscle pain and it helps keep your joints healthier.

Lemon water is perfect for digestion in that it stimulates the production of digestion enzymes. Drinking lemon water relives heart burn, burping, and bloating.

4. Lemon water gives your immune system a boost.

Vitamin C is jumper cables for your immune system. When you're stressed the level of vitamin C is the first to plummet which is why taking vitamin C is important.

5. Lemon water cleanses your system.

Lemon water flushes out the toxins that are in your body, and it also stimulate the liver.

6. Lemon water helps you lose weight and boosts energy.

5 Quick Tips to Keep Your House Clean

Who else feels overwhelmed when your house is messy?

As a mom, a messy house can be paralyzing. In fact it can become so overwhelming that it consumes you to the point that you feel defeated and throw up your hands, surrendering to everything else. This is when the mess can get really unbearable. The house suddenly becomes a never ending pile of laundry and dirty dishes and every other room becomes some sort of storage space for unwanted things.

Need a little help getting house in order? Here are 5 easy house cleaning tips to keep your house clean. These tips are quick to implement that will make your house feel super clean every single morning.

5 Quick HouseCleaning Tips:

1. Make your bed

Keeping your house clean begins first thing in the morning. The bed is the focal point in every bedroom. That's why if the bed and unmade and messy, the whole room just feels cluttered. Since the bed takes up most of the space in the room, the simple task of the making the bed instantly tidies the room which make you more organized.

Form the habit of making your bed first thing in the morning. It will soon become a mindless morning routine. Keep the bed linens to a minimun. A simple bed comforter and a couple of throw pillows is all that is needed to make the room more relaxing.

2. Shine the sinks

Do you have a pet peeve in your house?

Mine is the kitchen sink and it drives me crazy when dirty dishes are left setting in it. It's the one area in my house when it is shined and cleaned that gives my house a more organized look.

A shiny sink keeps the dirty dishes under control.

Not only do I shine my kitchen sink, but I also clean my bathroom sinks every night. A simple routine of swiping your bathroom makes the area look clean and tidy.

3. Swipe the surface

Just as shining your sinks, a quick daily swipe of other surfaces will instantly tidy up a space. Keep kitchen counters, tabletops, and furniture wiped clean of dust and sticky fingerprints.

This routine doesn't take a long time to do. Just simply wipe down surfaces in the breakfast area after breakfast, swiping the mirror after brushing your teeth. Doing these two things will make your morning a bit less stressful and a lot more relaxing.

4. One load of laundry a day

In order to keep the laundry under control I always toss in a load before breakfast. By doing this one simple step, my laundry pile stays under control and is more manageable.

 5. 10 minute tidy sweep

This 10 minute tidy sweep gets the entire family involved in the cleanup. I recently started designating 10 minutes to tidy up the living room and dining room before the kids bedtime.

Do you have a simple cleaning routine? Please feel free to share your tips and tricks you use to keep your house clean.
