Saturday Stuff

Hi Lovelies!

I'm a list maker. I love lists, so I thought I would write this post using a list! Saturday Stuff, here we go!!

~ date happened tonight, and we watched "Man of Steel". Not my favorite. I prefer the original "Superman the Movie" with Christopher Reeve. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but in my opionion, not great.

~ after being inside for seems weeks and weeks, we were finally able to go outside for some fresh air. We enjoyed ourselves in the beautiful weather (65 degrees!).

~ tomorrow we will be in the 70s and we plan to spend some time outside.

~ my next class started on this past Thursday. I have so much reading to do for this week and I have to work on my first assignment for the class. Wish me luck!

~ I'm opening my Etsy store in a few days. Once it's open I will post the link. So excited!!!

So, that's what's been happening around here!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Lovelies!

Can I just say that it's cold outside? We are staying in and cuddling together and watching some movies today.  We had a great weekend complete with an at home date night with the Hubby.  Weekends always seem to go so fast these days. Am I right?

P.S. this was suppose to post early this morning. I'm not sure what happened, so it's late! Sorry!

Anyways, I just wanted to pop in and link up with Sandy for Happy Homemaker Monday.

As I look out the window:

All I can say is that's it's cold outside. The sun can be very deceptive during the winter months and when you step outside the cold air just takes your breath away.

Right now I am:

Sitting on the couch watching the Disney Channel and eating breakfast with the Little.

Thinking and pondering:

On my paper for my current class that ends on Wednesday, and trying to figure out a study schedule for my next class that begins on Thursday.

On my bedside table:

Just a few books by V.C. Andrews and a few by books by Nicholas Sparks, and couple by John Saul.

On my TV tonight:

I plan on watching  "The thing called love" with River Phoenix and Samantha Mathis. River was one of my first crushes, I loved all of this movies and saw every one of them.

Listening to:

The movie and the game the my hubby is playing on the Xbox,

On the menu for this week:

Monday: Breakfast for dinner. Pancakes, scrambles eggs, turkey bacon, fruit, and milk
Tuesday: Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, garlic bread.
Wednesday: Chicken tacos with spanish rice and veggies
Thursday: Baked pork chops, baked potatoes (crockpot) and salad
Friday: Catfish, orzo with parsley, and veggies
Saturday: Beans and cornbread
Sunday: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and rolls

On my to do list:

Laundry (six loads to fold and put away)
Vacuum all rooms
Mopping

Plans for the week:

Library time for the Little
Dance class for the Little

What I'm sewing, crocheting, knitting, and creating:

I'm making bracelets and necklaces right now.

My simple pleasure:

Sitting on the couch, under a blanket, reading a good book.

Lessons learned this past week:

To let God be in control. He does not give us more than we can handle and I need to trust in Him more.

Looking around the house:

The house relatively clean. The living room is cluttered with hot wheels and other toys. The floors need to be vacuumed again, and the breakfast dishes need to be washed.

From the camera:

I haven't taken many pictures this week.

Prayer List:

Friends and family

Bible Verse, devotional:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
(Isaiah 55:8-9, ESV)

Sunday Social

Hi Lovelies!

I hope everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season. It's time for Sunday Social. Here are this week's questions:

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?

Yes. I recently rejoined Weight Watchers and hope to achieve my weight loss goal by the end of the year.

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?

Do what is simple for you and something that you enjoy doing. For me, that's walking. It's easy and you can do it anywhere.

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the Holidays?

Spent time with my family, watching holiday movies and just relaxing.

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?

Reach my goal weight. This was something that I did not accomplish in 2013. I lost all motivation for losing weight.

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.

My daughter's 4th birthday
My birthday
Achieving my goal weight

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

Saturday Inspiration: Kitchen Command Centers

It's the start of a new year and that means a new list of projects. This list will include....

Creating a kitchen command center

It is something that I have always wanted to do for a while because I think it will eliminate all of the counter clutter and it will help to tidy up my kitchen and create a little tiny office space. I just haven't tackled this paricular project yet, because I'm in the process of rearranging my kitchen in order to make this happen. Right now, I have a counter where I have my microwave with a set of cabinets above it that serves as my pantry. I'm planning on moving the microwave to the counter by the stove and I'm moving the drain board to the other side of the kitchen sink. And then I will take the empty counter and turn that into my kitchen command center.

I wanted to get some inspiration, so I turned to pinterest and here's what I found:

Everything that I have pinned is on my pinterest board, Kitchen Keepers.

Do you have a kitchen command center? If so, where did you find the inspiration for it?

Have a lovely Saturday!

I've made these before, and they are so yummy. Even the Little loved them (she loves anything with peanut butter and chocolate chips).
 Favorite Fashion
Self explanatory!
I love to try new recipes for such a classic dish.

Favorite Place
London. This another place that I would like to visit one day.
Favorite Sip: Pomegranate Cooler
I have never had a pomegranate, but I would love to try this sometime.

Favorite Snack: S'mores snack mix

Now, I make a similar snack mix and I know the Little would love this!

Favorite Find: Kitchen command center
This is something that I have been wanting to do in my kitchen. It would keep everything organized. I love this idea.
 Favorite Slurp: Crockpot potato soup

Favorite Decor
This is a breathtakingly beautiful bedroom. I love the shade of blue that was used on the walls.

What some of your favorite finds this week?

Setting goals for the New Year

Hi Lovelies!

I've decided that this year instead of making New Year's Resolutions, I'm making small goals for every month in 2014. I'll list them out and at the end of the month I'll recap how I have done with the goals that I have set for myself. So, we we go!

January Goals:

Spend time in the Word

In order to accomplish this I plan on participating in several Bible studies over the next few months. I want to begin and end my day in scripture and I want to include the word of God in my daily life.

Drink more water

I know I drink alot of water, but lately I have slacked off. So I hope to get better with this goal throughout the month.

Be healthier

I have recently rejoined Weight Watchers and I plan on making this a lifestyle style change instead of just a diet. I will do updates here and there on my progress throughout the year. Hopefully by doing this it will keep more accountable.

Use my calendar more

I have a Erin Condren Life Planner and Daytimer Family Planner that I use, however, I have slacked off on updating them in the last few weeks. My hope for this month is to update them more often and actually use them more often as well.

Put my phone down

I admit, even though I use a Tracfone prepaid cell phone, I need to put the phone down during the day. I have gotten into the habit of checking Facebook and Twitter multiple times throughout the day and this needs to stop now. I hope I can make this happen.

Be more present

I want to more memories with my family  and just enjoy the special moments that we have together. I want to be in the moment with my family and to just enjoy this time that we have together.

Do you make New Year's Resolutions or do set monthly goals throughout the year?

Have a lovely day!
