Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Lovelies!

Is it really Monday? Where did the weekend go? Anyway, another week is here so we might as well just accept and move on, right?

It's time for Happy Homemaker Monday with Sandy from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

As I look out the window:

The weather has been amazing this past week, but it looks like we are in for a cool down this week. Hopefully it won't get any colder than this!

Right now I am:

Sitting on the couch, watching the Disney Channel with the Little and updating my planners.

Thinking and pondering:

If I should make an appointment for the Little for a recheck on her ears. Also, I need to update my planners and finalize a study schedule for my current class (Research Methods).

On my bedside table:

Just a few books by V.C. Andrews and a few by books by Nicholas Sparks, and couple by John Saul.

On my TV tonight:

I'm watching "The Bling Ring" tonight.

Listening to:

"Time for your checkup" from Doc McStuffins on the Disney channel.

On the menu for this week:

Monday: Beans and cornbread
Tuesday: Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, garlic bread.
Wednesday: Homemade pizza and breadsticks, salad
Thursday: Baked pork chops, baked potatoes (crockpot) and salad
Friday: Beef Stew, "homemade" bread, salad
Saturday: Roast, potatoes, and corn
Sunday: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and rolls

On my to do list:

Laundry (six loads to fold and put away)
Vacuum all rooms
Mopping
Plan our Superbowl/my birthday party

Plans for the week:

Library time for the Little
Dance class for the Little
Tackle my growing to do list
Run a few errands

What I'm sewing, crocheting, knitting, and creating:

I'm making bracelets and necklaces right now.

My simple pleasure:

Sitting on the couch, under a blanket, reading a good book.

Lessons learned this past week:

To let God be in control. He does not give us more than we can handle and I need to trust in Him more.

Looking around the house:

The house relatively clean. The kitchen still needs to be cleaned, and the clothes need to be folded and put away.

From the camera:

Prayer List:

Friends and family

Bible Verse, devotional:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
(Isaiah 55:8-9, ESV)

Have a nice and wonderful Monday!

Friday Letters

Hi Lovelies!

Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful Friday. I felt compelled to write a few Friday letters tonight. Friday favorites will be back next Friday.

Dear God, Thank you for getting me through the difficult time that I have been expereincing lately. I will be spending more time with you, every day.

Dear Husband, thank you for talking to me tonight. It really did make me feel better. And I'm sorry for being such a pain today. I can't promise it won't happen again, but I will try my best to be a better wife.

Dear Little, you make my world so much brighter. You bring me so much joy and I love you very much.

Dear American Idol, I finally think you have the best panel of judges this season. I have been loving watching the new season and I cannot wait for next Wednesday to get here.

Dear Self, you really need to start feeling better about yourself. Just work on small goals and just take it one day at time and things should go smoothly.

Dear Planners, thank you for keeping me so organized.

Dear Research Methods, it's only been one week and I am already stressed out. Please take it easy one me I don't know how much I can handle.

Dear Sleep, please come easy tonight. I need some sleep. It just might make me feel better.

Dear blog readers, thank you for coming back every day. I know I'm not much of a writer, I try my hardest. Thanks for reading and commenting. You're the best!

Tasty Tuesday- Cheesy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Hi Lovelies!

Welcome to another edition of Tasty Tuesday! I know this post is going up late, but today has been a busy day ( with homemaking and playing with the Little) and I am just now sitting down at the computer.

I don't know about you, but spaghetti and meatballs are one of my favorite comfort foods. Even the Little loves them and just devours an entire plateful. Now, I have never thought about sneaking some cheese in the centers of the meatballs, but I think I might just have to try this the next time I make this meal. Since the Little loves cheese, I think this will be a big hit with her.

For some reason the Little will not any type of food on a stick except for popsicles. Weird, I know, but that's just how she is. So, I think I will just stick to good ol' Pepridge Farm Garlic Bread.I have made this recipe before, I just haven't taken any pictures of it. The next time I make it I will post the pics of it.

Here is today's recipe: Cheesy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Ingredients

Meatballs and Sauce

1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/2 cup Progresso® Italian style bread crumbs
2 tablespoons milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
Salt and pepper to taste
5 mozzarella cheese sticks, cut into small pieces
1 jar (24 oz) tomato pasta sauce

Pasta

1 package (l lb) pasta

Steps

1 In large bowl, mix beef, bread crumbs, milk egg, salt and pepper with hands until well combined. Shape mixture into small balls about the size of a Ping-Pong ball.

2 With finger, make hole in 1 ball but do not go all the way through. Place 1 piece of cheese in hole; enclose cheese by pinching hole back together. Repeat with remaining beef mixture and cheese pieces.

3 Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Pour pasta sauce into cooker. Place meatballs in sauce.

4 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 hours.

5 About 25 to 30 minutes before meatballs are done, cook pasta as directed on package; drain.

Enjoy!

Where would I be.......

I recently saw a status update that posed the following question: Where do you think you would be if you hadn't met your significant other? This is something that I think about quite a bit, I know that I would not be the person that I am now and I know I would not be a wife and a mother. As some of you know, the Hubbs and I have known each other since the third grade and all through school we had the same circle of friends and I had a crush on him all through high school (he did not know this). He finally started talking to me about a year and half after we graduated and we started dating in March of 1993. We have been together for 20 years and we have been through so much that has made us that much stronger.

Now back to the question: Where do you think you would be if you hadn't met your significant other?

I would not have the life that I have now. I would be 40, single, and still living with my parents and taking care of them, babysitting my nieces and nephews, and just not having a life of my own. I thank God every day that Paul saw me leave my parent's house, picked me up, and took me to his parents where I lived for a year until we found a place of our own. I would not have Angelina and I would not have Paul. They are the best blessings that a girl could ever have. I love them so much and they have given me the life that I have always wanted.

Now, it's your turn to answer the question:
Where do you think you would be if you hadn't met your significant other?
